Question: What does deeper thinking mean to you?
I remember before joining E Co. the idea of Deeper Thinking sounded like this team possessed some sort of Star Trek-esque telepathic abilities. And really, who wouldn’t be interested in joining a team like that?
Upon joining, whilst not quite the sci-fi scenario I had envisioned, I encountered an extremely diverse and experienced team of empathetic solutions-finders, motivated to solve the complex problems faced by climate change and development. And I saw that Deeper Thinking is the team’s driving ethos and two-pronged approach. It’s about prioritising putting yourself in the involved peoples’ shoes; colleagues, clients, the ultimate beneficiaries. And diving deeply into the presented problem.
Practically speaking, each project, big or small, is undertaken through a discursive, evidence-based, iterative process. And with such a thorough company approach, both internally and externally, this leads to work which is highly bespoke, intellectually robust and human. The voices involved feel heard and their needs well-investigated and well-understood.
From a specific communications perspective, Deeper Thinking facilitates a continuous learning about our own client needs and therefore, allows us to keep developing increasingly creative and precise ways in which we can reach and best support the clients’ own efforts in tackling climate change and development.
