Question: What does deeper thinking mean to you?
During my studies I was inspired by Rittel and Buchanan’s papers about wicked problems in design theories. I see climate change, inequality, poverty and other similar challenges that the world is currently facing as wicked problems because they have many interdependent factors which make them seem too difficult or even impossible to solve.
Tackling wicked problems requires an approach that considers empathy, reasoning, a deep understanding of the stakeholders involved, and an iterative approach to deliver sound solutions. To me, deeper thinking is exactly this, it’s about addressing wicked problems through innovative approaches.
